Why Visit Lanzarote This Summer?

There are plenty of good reasons for choosing Lanzarote as your holiday destination this summer.  As the fourth largest Canary Island offers loads to see and do – offering wonderful vacations at very reasonable prices.

For example, flights to Lanzarote have never been cheaper, thanks to the fact that there is much more competition on this route now from the UK than ever before.  Ryanair started operating services to the island in November 2009, with flights already offered by numerous other low cost airlines such as easyJet, Monarch and Thomas Cook.  As a result returns to the island shouldn’t cost much more than €200, even during the height of summer.

The cost of holidays in Lanzarote have also tumbled by about 13% this year – as tour operators struggle to sell all of their packages. Thanks to the combined impact of the recession and the weakness of the pound against the euro.  Which has encouraged many British consumers to choose a holiday outside of the euro zone or a staycation in good old Blighty.

During the summer months Lanzarote offers reliable sunshine and no rainfall – climatic conditions that can never be guaranteed in the UK.  Whilst at the same time the island is cooled by the Trade Winds, which helps to keep temperatures here bearable even during August.

Lanzarote´s weather is so good that it can even be enjoyed during the winter – when the sun still shines and beach holidays are possible even in December.
